China Fair...Thursday, February 18, 2010
On Tuesday, February 16th, 2010, the children of 2-II presented their China Fair. They worked very hard, practicing each of their parts and preparing their presentation. Among the topics of Chinese culture that 2-II talked about were: Chinese flag, religion, rivers and mountains, important cities, arquitecture, The Great Wall of China, sports, food, Chinese New Year and others. The students also presented a video teaching the audience how to speak a little bit of Mandarin, China's official language, and another video showing some impressive Kung Fu moves. It was a lot of fun and everyone enjoyed the presentation.

The curtains rise at New Horizons School. Fourth graders took stage and performed their class play “The Day Rosa Parks was Arrested”.
Students in grade 4-I & 4-II were given the opportunity to imagine, explore, create, and share in front of others. They learned about Rosa Parks’s act of courage began turning the wheels of the civil rights movement and the influence she made to change a nation.

read more ...New Horizons’ Alumni selected as an Speaker for the Youth Conference...Tuesday, April 14, 2009Iris Mabel Estrada, graduated in 2008, was selected from among 900 candidates (between the ages of 19 and 25) to speak in the Youth Conference for Sustainability Leadership, to be held in September in Canada. One hundred eighty students were selected from Canadian Universities and Colleges.
